I Got Joost
I am now beta testing Joost. Joost is the name being given to the product resulting from The Venice Project. I have nothing bad to say about it so far. There is an advertisement in the middle of long videos. The first time I viewed a long video, I thought that it had malfunctioned because of the few seconds of blank screen as the ad is queuing up. I think it is something that a person could easily get used to. They might fix it by inserting a message of some sort. Judging from the various post launch issues that have been covered by updates, this thing may be the exclusive domain of testers for a few months.
I am wondering whether they are partly using exclusivity as a marketing tool. It was not hard for me to score an invite, and I was automatically given two invites for my friends, with the possibility of more in exchange for my active participation in testing. Joost has tremendous cool factor, and a huge potential for content.

How did you get in though? I’m having a real hard time finding someone willing to invite me.
