Google Shortens the Shelf Life for C00kies

cookies.JPGI used to have a blog that was hosted on a d-list celebrity’s website. Actually, I still have one there, but he has recently installed word press. The reason I bring that up is because on his old blogging setup, I couldn’t put the word cookies into the text of a blog entry. I thought that was odd, but in retrospect there were probably good reasons for it. I was actually writing something about Oreo Cookies. I had to resort to using zeros like some leet kid. Some people are worried about cookies.

Google just announced in the official Google blog that they are going to make a change that causes cookies to expire in a shorter time. The change is a move being made in response to users feedback and the advice of privacy advocates.

The original expiry date for cookies from Google was 2038.
