PayPal owns a company that produces ‘widgets’. Widgets are small applications that people can add to their websites. Slide Inc. is reportedly the No. 1 widget maker.

They are about to begin selling advertising space on some of these widgets. According to the Washington Post, this is unique and new. The founder of PayPal wants this to gain widespread acceptance and part of the plan is that users opt in to allow these advertisements.

Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures, AT&T Inc. and the Discovery Channel are all interested in buying in to this. Are you?
