Some color schemes for consumer goods were established before marketers started applying psychology to their strategies. You will not see very many new products using red and white. Coca Cola and Campbell’s Soup are probably the best known iconic brands that use these colors.

In researching logos, I have read that tying your logo to a specific color is not generally advisable. Think about auto makers and computer companies. Their iconic logos are recognizable regardless of color scheme.

I am going with a red and white banner on the blog today.
