Be Proactive about Acne

I have three teenage children. They have acne of an almost identical severity. They have a broad range of attitudes about their acne.

One kid is painfully self conscious. One kid could care less, or is effectively pretending to not care. The third lies somewhere between. About three months ago, we as parents decided that they should be given a treatment program and some instruction as to how to go about implementing it. We chose a product with Benzoyl Peroxide. This ingredient is safe for children to use and it can be very effective in treating mild cases of acne. Thankfully, their cases are mild.

Treatment programs like proactive solution combine several products and a precise regimen of skincare which should, in most cases, minimize acne. Benzoyl Peroxide is a key ingredient in Proactive Solution

I keep kidding myself that fresh air and sunshine can do wonders for acne. I should know better after reading all the scientific facts about the problem. The bacteria that cause acne outbreaks are actually thriving in an anerobic environment inside clogged pores. The reason that we get more acne in our teens is that hormones cause our sebacious glands to excrete more oils. These mix with dead skin cells to form clogs in our pores (blackheads). Dirt doesn’t really have much of a role here. Washing is helpful because it removes oil and dead cells. Proactive solution packages includes a cleanser as the first of three steps. The second step is a toner that works to unplug pores. The last step has prescription strength Benzoyl Peroxide.

The celebrity endorser for Proactive Solution is Jessica Simpson. The catch with having a celebrity endorse an acne product is that a portion of the public will be disbelieving as far as the celebrity having to deal with problem skin. I have spent some time writing blogs about celebrities and I have seen lots of pictures. Jessica Simpson has a skin type that can be problematic.
