The Idea Jar
I just had a brilliant idea. The inspiration for this idea was the fact that I wanted to write a blog post, but I had absolutely not one thought in my head. It happens.
So, my idea is to create a virtual jar where bloggers can add the ideas that they don’t want to create posts with. There is a random retrieval process and each idea that is added can only be removed once. This will allow people like me to just go and grab a one or two sentence idea and use it to create original content. This is quite possibly the best idea since sliced bread. For the record, I prefer unsliced bread. Once this jar is created, I am going to put in ‘Sliced Bread Versus Unsliced Bread.’ See, the ideas don’t have to be original or profound.

I do something like this for myself. At work, I have a notebook with me that I jot random partial ideas. At home, I create a blog entry with a quick title and whatever else came with that creative spark. I also save email newsletters and bookmark articles under the title “blog fodder” for later use.
