Revisiting Old Traffic Generation Schemes Part I: FuelMyBlog
I was tipped off to
when it was relatively new and I jumped at it because it appeared to have some good potential as far as connecting with other bloggers and gaining readership. My experience with the site was disappointing and I would have forgotten about it if I wasn’t on the mailing list.
It may be that sustained effort or a more eye-catching avatar would have resulted in some real benefit from this website. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who disagrees with my opinion that this site isn’t of much help to individual bloggers.

I’d liken it to being in a pub or bar alone. If you stand in the corner, nobody will notice you
.
The way to get most from any community (especially one like ours) is join the conversation, leave comments on votes (even just voting for blogs gets coverage). Also, adding our new widget which shows friends, adding some friends, talking in the forum, leaving comments on the community blog, joining in competitions, joining our book, even writing for our community blog.
There are many ways of using the site to gain readers, simply adding your blog won’t work, have you left comments, viewed other blogs in your category or voted?
Please try the above and please review after a week, i’d be very interested in your thoughts and findings.
Thanks

Thanks for the input, Kevin. I have spent some time today making changes to my presence ( or virtual lack thereof) on FuelMyBlog. I will certainly write an update after I have followed some of your pointers. I think the book idea is kinda cool BTW.

Thanks very much, I hope you join up to the book. The heat is on now, I am waiting for your picture!
I am really looking forward to your findings, if it doesn’t work, will be good working with you and trying to see what we need to do.
