Walmart Shoppers Kill Jdimytai Damour

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Jdimytai Damour was hired as a temporary worker by Walmart for the busy Christmas season. He was apparently a pretty nice guy. The shoppers that trampled him are assholes, but they will probably escape any adequate retribution because of the nature of mob actions.

The people who run Walmart created the situation and they have a huge corporation to hide behind. Hopefully Damour’s family can get a large settlement from Walmart.

Entrecard Review

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Entrecard was coming into its own at about the same time that I was changing my priorities and blogging less intensively. I have an Entrecard on Plasticless and I do not see much of a benefit as far as readership. It seems like Entrecard’s popularity is based on the fact that credits are bought and sold with hard currency and also the fact that the Internet is full of people who will crawl through a mile long virtual rusty stovepipe for a dollar.

I recently decided to place the card at the top of my sidebar to see if that changes the economics of the thing for me.

Standing Workstations

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

My longest held day job involved a lot of standing. I learned how to buy really good footwear. I learned to take the time to remove the platform that the short guy on the other shift had put in place (he called it the Battle Flat). I had a few discomforts over the years, but overall I was ok with the idea of standing for hours at a time.

Now I am feeling kind of uncomfortable sitting at the computer for long periods of time. This is the second time in my blogging career that I have contemplated devising a standing workstation. If I actually follow through on it this time I will blog a bit about how it works out.
